Not a Ghost of a Chance If you seen Episode 17 of Season 2, you probably remember Wizardmon's return from the dead. Kind of weird considering all the other Digimon return to their eggs.

That's one of the reasons I'm starting to turn away from series that establish blatant rules that are always followed, and then they beak a rule, and know one seems to notice.

@Tanokki That's why I don't consider the Digimon series canon to each other. If they can change it in their own season, what's to say they couldn't change it in all their other medias?

I always figured that, because he died in the Human world rather than the Digital world, his data never returned to the Digital world. That would be the reason why the Digdestined are still depressed about Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon dying, despite that knowledge. Has any digimon that died in the Human world been revived?

@Thanan The Movie it happened.

@AkumaTh: Technically, it was a digidestined digimon.
Maybe having digidestined as your partner has something to do with it.

Well there's other explainations. Wizardmon was just too badass to completely die, so therefore he didn't go to the return to an egg stage. Or he just needs someone to run Defrag on him.

It could happen.

Maybe wizardmon uses a mac or something

Akuma I think you're kinda' forgetting that WIZARMON DIED WHEN THE DARK MASTERS WERE IN CONTROL IN THE DIGITAL WORLD, and thus he wouldn't be able to reform anyways and that combined with the fact he was in the real world and it would have lagged up his tamaing, he decided to embed his consciousness within the devices in that building.

OR: Wizarmon is MAGIC, he doesn't HAVE to be explained.

I don't think Wizardmon would have been able to become a Digi-Egg, since he died during the time the Dark Masters came, like what Tomcat_X said.

That, and he might have decided to stay dead, since there he finished his duty, and didn't feel that he was needed anymore. I think.

About the Dark Master theory. A Day on the Digital World's timeline was like a minute or so in the Real world at the time too. Who knows when the Dark Masters took over.

Reply Tatsurou (Guest), October 28th, 2009, 1:52 pm

Based on what Pixiemon and the other Digimon said, the Dark Masters gained control not long (Digiworld Time) after the Digidestined returned to Earth. Part of their takeover involved the destruction and corruption of Primary Village, without which Digimon can't return to their eggs.
Also, that attack Myotismon aimed at Gatomon that Wizardmon blocked was probably a data damaging attack, intended to prevent Gatomon from returning to an egg.

Considering he died in the real world, I'd take that as the reason he didn't become an egg.

Though this begs the question, what if a human died in the Digital World?

@Reign of Chaos: Dead

I can explain a popular fan theory is that when a digimon dies in the real world, they don't come back as a digiegg
