Spot the Recolor If you're on youtube and you search "Recolor", you'll see a lot of bashing from people. While I only use recolors (now) to fill in backgrounds, I don't have many that are.

But one time looking through Digimon, I found that a number of Digimon are just recolors of already existing ones. Kind of cheap if you ask me, and this is from the the guys who made them.

There's also Black Agumon, Snow Agumon... I could go on, but I don't have a list on me.

Don't forget about BlackWarGreymon. XD

Reply scytheholder, September 20th, 2009, 4:33 pm

The difference between them and BlackWarGreymon is that he was a Digimon made from darkness, he has an excuse that works... in the most illogical way...

Well, according to the Digimon mythos in all continuities, Digimon are basically bits and pieces of computerized data given varying degrees of sentient life based on said data used to create them, so.........

Well the recolor characters generally were low level stage enemies or random encounters. The games followed a bit more of typical RPG monster design format at times where if they needed an ice or darkness themed enemy they'd sometimes just do a pallet swap. Its a pretty common and efficient way of both saving on time and limiting the storage size of the game files. So depending on what origin story of Digimon (slightly different depending on series or game) you go on the existence of recolors can actually make sense.

Reply Mist th, October 5th, 2009, 4:16 pm

We viewers do radiant.
We prefer original. Same with spriting nobody likes people saying there sonic s brother only there green.
Isn't t sad that people forget digimon and remember pokemon.

At least digimon doesn't do what Pokemon does and recolor EVERY one of their creatures and then claim its a rarer form of said creature. And there's a limit in recolor of Digimon, most are just recolored rookies for the sake of having a wider starting line up for the Champion to Mega levels. Or some recolors (as according to appearance outside of RPG and card game) actually have other alterations to them, like Black versions being virus, or with some digimon there are other image changes (Like Pidmon, the alteration of Angemon has two wings instead of Six).

Also you made that third one up. NOW IF YOU HAD SHOWN KUZUHAMON, then I'd have shut up.
